It was my intention, had time permitted, to add four or five other expositions to the first part of the volume, but much pressure of other work, in this country and abroad, has prevented my doing so at present.

The actual content of this book is great as usual: HOWEVER a warning about the PRODUCTION of this book! It is hard to read because apparently no one proof read this book before it was published. I know that the mistakes found in this book are not that of David's, but of the PROOF READER who apparently did not do their job. Maybe there was no proof reader. Names are spelled one way on one page and the next page the name is correctly spelled, example Gomer is misspelled for two or three pages as Comer and then it becomes Gomer. For a few pages you wonder who is this Comer. There are a lot of punctuation mistakes, extra letters that go to no word, making it difficult to read and study.Product details

The Ancient Scriptures and the Modern Jew Classic Reprint David Baron 9781333985776 Books Reviews
This review is not about the book itself. David Baron was an outstanding writer and I would recommend anything he has written. I am very disappointed with the publisher of this Baron reprint. There was no effort whatsoever placed on making this book readable. Baron wrote using notes which were normally referenced at the bottom of the same page in a smaller font to distinguish between the text and the note. The publisher lumped the text and the notes all together. The original was clearly in a different font size than the reprint, which means notes that would have been on the bottom of a page are now mingled into the text and in the same font size. As you read this reprint, you realize the thought of the text has suddenly changed to a different subject, and/or what you are reading makes no sense. Once I figured out how they had printed the book, I tried to make adjustments in how I read it. However, there are many instances in this reprint in which, not only are notes mixed in with text, but paragraphs are out of order, or separated by portions of other paragraphs. Very frustrating to try and read. I do not recommend buying this reprint from this publisher. I have spent way too much time trying to figure out the proper order of the text and notes. What I have tried so read so far is the typically outstanding writing of David Baron. Buy this book by Baron, but find a different publisher.
A writer that is truly underrated. His accuracy and devotion to accurate scripture interpretation is a true rarity. The best commentary on Zachariah that has no parallel.
Godly writing based on humble but laser-clear textual and (con)textual exegisis with the Spirit even. Remarkable also is that this was written only as the Zionist movement was in it's fledgling infancy, but completely accurate (no surprise) predicting the return of the some of the Israelite diaspora in a state of general unbelief (still "religious", but not renewed per the new covenant that YHWH promised via Jeremiah 3133), and almost accurate (again no surprise) regarding all of the specific "hows" (He mentions Turkish administrative involvement in helping to secure the goal of a homeland, but did not clearly forsee the dissolution of the Ottoman empire.
