Renegade The Lost Books Book 3 The Books of History Chronicles Ted Dekker Books
Wow, Dekker really got back into form with Renegade. It might be that incorporating Black, one of Dekker's best characters and the equivalent of Stephen King's "Randall Flagg" character or that he included various elements of Showdown and Skin into this tale that gave it the boost it needed.......or I suppose it could even just be that Ted really hit his stride here.... but, whatever the reason, this book really sings. While the first two books told interesting and even gripping tales, the YA slant present in the series thus far, had heretofore kept things a bit too simplistic and 1 dimensional and what we're left with an outstanding Dekker novel that definitely should be read by those who have delved into the Circle and/or Paradise series. The work Dekker does in the first two books to establish the characters, back-stories and plot all pay off very nicely here where Dekker is able to capitalize on events set in motion in the first two books to create some very harrowing and touching moments. Any reservations I had about reading this series to fill in the gaps between Black and Red are now a distant memory and Ted's really written a fantastic tale that even at ~275 pages measures up quite nicely to many of his full blown efforts.
Definitely a must read, though this being part 3 in a serialized story, you definitely have to read the first two books in the series first.

Renegade The Lost Books Book 3 The Books of History Chronicles Ted Dekker Books Reviews
Ted Dekker is my favorite writer and I read everything he writes. I love all of his books and he has not let me down yet. I recommend this book to anyone who loves Christian Fiction.
This is not one of author's best book. I enjoy reading it but it did not deliver big mind blowing as others from trilogy. It touched you but I like the others much better. I still recommend it as a good vacation book - once you start you can not put it down.
This 3rd in the Lost Books of History series is the best yet. Unexpected reverses and entrance into new worlds holds the reader's attention. Dekker never fails to give constant action and characters who touch the heart. Better buy 3 & 4 together, because you won't be able to wait for 4 after finishing 3!
This is a great companion series to the incredible Black, Red, White trilogy by Dekker, but also ties in to the Showdown, Sinner, Saint set as well as other books. Incredible breadth of storytelling across the board, and each book in any of these series contributes something and holds its own. Amazing
Good story, Dekker rights well. Not what I call a 'page burner', but close to it. I enjoyed it, over all. At times I was frustrated with the characters because they didn't do what I considered to be logical things, but maybe Dekker meant it to be that way. I found myself drawn into the story and interested in what happened next. The book reads as if it is for late teens. It may be advertised as such, but I'm older and enjoyed it just the same. I would recommend the book. I read the Black, Red, White series and there a tie ins. I like that series more, but not a by a large margin. If you read the B-R-W series you would proabably enjoy The Lost Books series.
I read the book, because it was a continuation of the Circle series. Its definitely meant for the younger reader, but I liked it because it was a light read. Its an amazingly fun series. He is a fascinating writer and all of his books are not afraid to dive into some pretty dark and intense places of life and the human mind. I loved them!
thank you
